The whole month of August has almost gone by and not one single post from "The Collins Chronicle." Life has changed fast. For financial reasons alone, I have gone back to teaching full time. I am teaching first grade at Canyon Elementary in Spanish Fork. Today was the 6th day of school. The plan is for this to be very temporary-hopefully just this school year. However, I have been blessed with a great class, awesome parents, a wonderful first grade team, and a supportive principal. I will send pictures of my new classroom soon.
Darren has been home full time with Sabrina the past two weeks, but it looks like he will be offered a full time job soon. He has had two phone interviews and an in person interview today, all with the same company-Via Subscription in North Orem. How ironic! I know I am supposed to be learning something from this trial and I hope and pray that I learn it this year so I don't have to go through it again! One thing I know I have learned already--don't be judgmental of working mothers! I was definitely guilty of that before this experience.
This has been one of the hardest 5 months of my life since Darren was laid off in March, but things are definitely looking up. Sabrina has LOVED having her daddy home with her all day. My sister in law will take over once Darren starts working full time again.

Glad things are working out for you guys. Miss you all...
I hope you are able to blog about some of the experiences you are having in the classroom and some new pictures of Sabrina. That's great news about Darren. I hope it works out. I hope to see you soon when Alli moves.
Wow! I had no idea you were going through all of that. I'm so happy that things are working out for you guys. I'm sure your team and your kids, their parents, and your principal are so happy to have you! Also all of those students lives will be changed because of you.
I bet you are doing a great job teaching- I love first graders!
I hope all works out well for you and your family! Hang in there.
You are amazing! I bet your first graders just love you. Good luck to Darren with his job opportunities. That would be so great!
I totally understand! Yukio is a realtor and had to find another job.Countrywide closed our home equity loan THEN cashed our check (all our savings) to pay that off, then sent a notice. We had to file bankruptcy, lost our home, and moved to a smaller rental. I am working on my realtor lisencs to start working again, and taking on babysitting jobs until then. It has been a humbling experiance, and you become closer to Heavenly Father. You & Darren have NO reason to feel bad, you are doing what you need to to survive and live...take happiness in that!
Love you!
