Sabrina Being Sabrina

It is really fun to see your baby morph into a toddler with definite ideas about her wants and needs. The language barrier can make things tough--Darren and I speaking American English and Sabrina speaking or singing gibberish. It is very common to see Sabrina hanging from the fridge, in search of a snack. She eats like a bird usually, so it is no wonder that she is always hungry.

Baking Fun

Sabrina helping me bake for her first time. We made chocolate chip cookies for Family Home Evening. She LOVED it!

She had watched me scoop out the first batch with two spoons and was trying to copy me.

She got a little bored waiting to scoop out the last batch so she opened the silverware drawer and started putting her plastic utensils in the bowl.

Just Chillin'

I think Sabrina looks really grown up here. I can't get enough pictures of her in the late afternoon sunlight.

My Little Cupcake

I LOVE this apron with all the scrumptious looking cupcakes on the fabric. It is still too big but it looks cute on her and even works when she is helping me bake.

Apron Strings

My mom got Sabrina and I aprons. They are not matching but I think they are pretty hip all the same. Thank you, Cookie!

New Tricks

As of lately, almost every time we tell Sabrina, "It's time for a diaper change!" or "Bedtime!" she often dives under her crib or the kitchen table and thinks it is so funny when we playfully pull her out by her feet.

Strike a Pose

Here Sabrina is with her two comfort items..."Bear", who she was given by a friend on the day she was born. She sleeps with it every night.

She also sleeps with her blankie that she has expertly stuffed into my purse!

Time With Daddy

Sabrina is enjoying time with Daddy and also a snack. Those nice little IKEA bowls hold many of her favorites--from dry cold cereal to Teddy Grahams to popcorn.

In this case, Sabrina is a PRINCESS. She is eating some Teddy Graham Princess Snacks.

Can't Live With Her, Can't Live Without Her

I felt so fortunate to get these cute pictures of Sabrina with our cat, Mickey. I had a couple ideas for the title of this post--"He's Just Not That Into You" and "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not." Mickey is extremely patient with a precocious toddler. He is so kind to her. I suppose he senses that because she is small she doesn't always know better when she pesters him. On the other hand, he spends alot of time running away from her and trying to get out of the corners she often puts him in. I am sure it wears on him at times (look closely at his face in these two pictures.) I often have to separate them when Sabrina gets a little too wild with him, so Mickey is used to sleeping on my bed with the door closed. It is literally true that Mickey has no choice in the matter--he can't live without Sabrina, so he has made the best of having to share our attention! It is funny how much children usually love animals. Since Sabrina has had Mickey as a pet since birth, I am guessing that she will love animals as much as her dad.

New Year's Eve Date

I don't think I have ever posted a picture of just Darren and I on the blog. This is right before we headed over to our friends' New Year's Eve Party. I will be posting lots of our wedding pictures in May--it will be our five year anniversary!
